How to Remove Residency Entered by a Customer

Sometimes, registrants may mistakenly enter themselves as residents. However, to prevent people from falsifying their residency, residents are unable to change their own residency status after it has been entered. When this residency error is impacting prices, admins must update the residency.

To update the residency from the Verify Residency Grid:

  • Back office>Contact Management/Security
  • Select Verify Residency, Rate Group, and Tax ID
  • Search for the Household and/or status/created date
  • A grid loads
    • Uncheck the box “is resident”
    • Scroll to update the Zip Code to one that is not a resident Zip Code. Tip: Enter the letter X in front of a zip code. For example, 55555 could become x55555.
  • Then, proceed to the Front Page to resume resistering the customer. The proper information should appear.

To update the residency from the Household Account:

  • Back office> Right Menu: Manage a Household
  • Enter search criteria as needed.
  • Press SEARCH
  • A Search form loads: search for either youth or prime contact
    • A list appears.
    • Click the pencil next to the contact name
  • A form loads.
    • On tab 1, scroll to household details. Update the Zip Code to one that is not a resident Zip Code. Tip: Enter the letter X in front of a zip code. For example, 55555 could become x55555.
    • On tab 2, Credits and Rate Groups, uncheck IS RESIDENT.
    • Save
  • Then, proceed to the Front Page to resume resistering the customer. The proper information should appear.
