Sometimes testing a new system can seem to throw up issues that are, in fact, just growing pains. This post is designed to separate actual things you need to fix before go-live from things that are functioning as expected, but might be confusing to a first-time admin.

  1. I can’t progress with my test registration
    • Possible cause: Do you see the message : “Search for Contacts”? If so, you are logged in as an admin.  Logged-in admins have the option of choosing a person to register. This feature is handy when registration is live, but might surprise you when you are starting out! Please choose a user to test your registration, or log out and create a test account.
    • Possible cause: The site says my email is already associated with an account. If so, you may be using the same email Cogran used to set up your admin account. Even if you are using a username, Cogran will have your admin email on file. Email addresses can only be used for one account.
  2. I can’t find my programs once I select a user during my test registration
    • Possible issue: When trying to test programs, please make sure that this tester has the right age, grade, and gender for the programs. In the case of age groups, make sure your person has a birthday that falls in the right time frame for your test person to be eligible. Read more about eligibility here.
  3. I found too many programs once I selected my test user! What is going on?
    • Possible cause: When logged as admin, you can sign up your registrants for anything for which they are eligible, even if you are not showing those programs to the public yet. Log out to experience the public view.
Possible issue: Eligibility has not been set properly. Review your programs!
  4. My registration programs aren’t on the cards! Where are they?
    • Possible cause: Your cards and registration periods have not been associated yet. This is not automatic, so please visit your registration period setup to complete your setup.
    • Possible cause: You have swapped info around on your cards and not completed a hard refresh on the back office followed by a regular refresh of the front page.
    • Possible cause: Your registration periods are not yet open for registration, and so they are not visible for registration. Check your setup!
    • Possible issue: Your registration period has been associated with the wrong card. Double check your setup or look at your other cards to verify!
  5. My cards are missing. Where are they?
    • Possible cause: You have not published the cards.
    • Possible cause: You have not checked the checkbox allowing the card to display to the public. Check your card setup.
